Here are examples of how your donations make a difference every day in your community.

Everyday Hero - $1 a day or $365 a year

$365 a year provides court preparation, court accompaniment and other support for 1 of 450 child victims and witnesses in Waterloo Region referred annually to the Child Witness Centre...services which minimize the risk of children being re-traumatized by the court process

$365 a year provides supplies for a 6 week leadership training program, Lead On, for 20 teens

 

$365 a year purchases a uniform for one volunteer Medical First Responder

 

Friend  - $1.37 a day or $500 a year

$500 a year provides an evening drop in program for teens for 4 months and keeps them off the streets

 

Leader - $2.74 a day or $1,000 a year

$1,000 a year enables SJA to certify 16 volunteers as Advanced Medical First Responders who can then provide first aid coverage at our community events.

 

$1,000 a year provides 10 children with breakfast 2 mornings a week during the school year.

 

Founder - $4.11 a day or $1,500 a year

$1,500 a year provides a monthly outing for 10 students in an Alternative Education program, 7th Inning Alternate Education Program, from September to June

 

Sponsor - $6.85 a day or $2,500 a year

$2,500 a year provides 8 weeks of summer playground programs for 30 children.

$2,500 a year enables SJA to cover the cost of maintenance and insurance on their vehicles, which are equipped with first aid supplies for use at community events

Patron - $13.70 a day or $5,000 a year

$5,000 a year provides funds to hire 2 local teens to lead a weekly physical activity and healthy snacks program for neighbourhood youth, from September to June.

 

$5,000 a year provides counselling for 4 clients each week for 30 weeks at Argus Residences for Young People helping youth begin positive planning for change in their lives, or to restore relationships with family and friends in situations where youth have become socially isolated

 

Builder - $27.40 a day or $10,000 a year

$10,000 a year provides 2 days of homework support and activity-based after-school programming for 20 youth, from September to June. Youth are in the program from after school to parent pick up, at 5:30pm.

 

$10,000 a year provides 280 hours of counselling for clients who are living in poverty and dealing with mental health challenges. Counselling can help a client with mental health issues reach treatment goals and minimize hospitalization, thereby minimizing disruption to family of having a parent away from home

 

Benefactor - $68.49 a day or $25,000 a year

$25,000 a year pays for 700 hours of counselling; paying for a counsellor at each of three area high schools 1 day per week to offer school based counselling helps youth to make positive change in their lives
